How to Achieve Victory Over Our Emotions With God

How to Achieve Victory Over Our Emotions With God

Brenda Dillon

Have you ever let the weight of an emotion hold you down?

Is there someone who causes you continuous distress in dealing with him or her?

Is there something in your life you just can’t get…past?

It’s easy to let discouragement take hold & make things “not good.” And when it’s a long-standing problem, it becomes more difficult to find the energy to encourage yourself, to take action against the effects.

Please don’t let yourself slide down into an attitude of deflation & hopelessness, into a sepulchre in the midst of life….

Make a conscious decision not to let that be your story. For some, you may need to renew your pledge weekly, for others… daily. For you, it may be with each hour or minute of the day.

However many times you need to commit to a good outlook…

regardless of the actions you must consciously & repeatedly take…

…do it. Fight.

“Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.” (Psalm 42:11)

Value your life enough to understand emotions can be dealt with, situations can be controlled. But you have to be willing to move, to take authority over them, and most importantly…to bring them to God.

Yes, it may take more than simply asking for help. Trust in His willingness & ability is essential. A determination to not let the enemy (Satan) bully you is vital.

When you settle into your understanding that God is the Healer of EVERYTHING– of hurt, of emotions, relationships, mental issues…of literally everything; THEN, you fight from the standpoint of victory.

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)

God can change your outlook, heal your emotions, deliver from depression…. Approach Him with just the tiniest bit of faith and steadfastly move forward with Him in resolve.
