Are we striving to be better people every day?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s easy to go along in the status quo of life. To genuinely and progressively make a conscious effort to improve a bit of our character every day takes determination and work!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honestly, most days we’re probably too caught up in the busyness of life to even let our minds drift there\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it’s good to take a look at our hearts, our attitudes, our responses & behaviors. When was the last time we asked ourselves if God is pleased with the way we talk to our family, with the attitude we have toward others, with our responses to contention in life?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A little self introspection, some evaluation of our intentions and ways is a healthy thing for our spirits AND our relationships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How we do life matters! We are Christ’s representatives. I love how the English Standard Version puts it, “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” (2 Corinthians 5:20)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can we represent Christ well to others if we aren’t doing our best to be LIKE Him? He’s called us to be mimickers of Himself– candles lit from the master flame, going out to light the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe we’re afraid of what we’ll see if we DO look in that mirror. Are we timid to try because we feel we might not see His reflection?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God doesn’t want us to self shame or to wallow in discouragement because we aren’t who we should be yet. We’re all in a process of growth, sanctification and maturity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the best thing we can do in our daily lives is to serve Him in such a way that we’re striving to look more and more like Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our children are taking in the things we say to them. Co-workers are watching our responses. The people we interact with on a daily basis are drawing conclusions about the kind of person– the kind of Christian– we are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are we willing to go through the process, the effort, the work of developing who & what we are for His glory? Are we fitly carrying out the Great Commission?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After all, we were meant to shine for Him\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
