I’ve said it myself, “I’m just a mom.”

As if that title somehow denotes
…inferior connotations,
…unimportant status
…that the upcoming input is less than valuable.

Maybe you birthed a child, adopted one, brought someone in as your own…or took the responsibility upon yourself to be a mom to someone else’s child who doesn’t even live with you.

If you’re pouring your heart into them, giving them your best, supporting them, making them feel loved, valued, important.. then you’re my hero.

It doesn’t matter if you’re grandma or an aunt or a neighbor. Makes no difference if you had a c-section, were barren. If you’ve lost your child, if your son or daughter chose to be estranged, if they’ve gone down a wrong path in life– if you’ve prayed over them, devoted your heart to them, worried about them in the night…you’re a mom. A GOOD mom! And don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

This Mother’s Day I pray, as Proverbs 31 says, that your children rise up and call you blessed. But even if they don’t, please know you are just as much a treasure, that God is paying attention to who you are, that your love IS making a difference–even if you don’t see it.

If you’re a woman of Godly influence in a child’s life, whether they are littles, or teenagers, or beginning their move into the realm of adulthood, I’m recognizing you. “Many women have done excellently, but YOU surpass them all.\u2019\u201d (Proverbs 31:29)
