God must think our prayers sound like the whining of a spoiled child at times!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

…”It didn’t go the way I wanted.”
…”This isn’t fair.”
…”I’m not happy.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We defend ourselves with arguments like…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

…”I’ve been a good Christian.”
…”I treat people right.”
…”I don’t ask for much.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aren’t you grateful that He’s patient with us when our prayers sound more like tantrums?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like an understanding dad, He sees our moments of theatrical self-pity, shakes His head, and forbearingly waits for us to “act our spiritual age.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fairness, we’re in good company. David, in Psalm 22:1,2 had a similar interaction. “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish? My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, but I find no rest.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s good to know that “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.” (Psalm 103:13)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes we need a lot of compassion. A lot! If we can just learn to step back & remember that God’s seen the end of a situation before we even prayed about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes not getting our way is a mercy thing. Maybe our ask is just not in God’s timing. Perhaps, well, LIKELY, He just knows best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we begin to truly surrender our wills to Him, we can better deal with…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

…hearing no.
…waiting.
…accepting an alternate path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proverbs 3:5,6 may just be the key to getting there. “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s ok if WE don’t understand our plight. It’s alright to be disappointed. But trust that God knows what He’s doing– and carry on in faith….<\/p>\n\n\n\n
